Twist pile carpets are usually tufted carpets and a plain colour, they also come in a tweed efect, They are made of a variety of different materials and it is this and the weight of the pile that decides the price.They can be broken down into BUDGET, MEDIUM, HEAVYand LUXURIOUS, Once again man made fibres will wear exceptionaly well but some customers prefer to pay more for wool as it retains its good looks for longer

BUDGET
Man made fibres sometimes stain restistant (not stainproof) around £3.95 a sq yard will buy you a good carpet cheap enough for a bedroom or good enough for a lounge or hall stairs and landing, the budget ones may also come complete with a foam or felt back which saves you even more money

MEDIUM
Usually around £ 5.95 to £7.95 a sq yard requiring a seperate underlay and still man made fibre although you can get 50%wool or all wool twists at this price I would not recommend them as it would either be reused wool or not enough weight per sq yard to wear well

HEAVY
Heavy twists are usually pure new wool at a weight of 38ounces per sq yard or higher or a branded man made fibre roughly around £10.95 sq yard

LUXURIOUS
Are twists of pure new wool roughly around £15.95 Sq yard 40 or 50 ounces a sq yard, and are 10th guage not 8th guage
